Computer Science Terms.

During the last meeting, I learned about a few CS terms that would be useful to me for the future. I learned:

deprecated - which means to mark a component of a software standard obsolete to warn against its use in the future so that it may be phased out. 

Example : The aliquot # was deprecated from U_Pb redux. 

refractor - disciplined technique for restructuring an existing body of code, altering its internal structure without changing its external behavior

metadata - is about individual instances of application data, the data content. "Data about data".

Answered Questions.

    I am currently working on putting the answers I received from our last meaning into the code of the actual help. I want to do this then convert the pages with the answered questions to CSS first. I will answer the questions in batches until they're all answered, and the help section is all converted. This way I can make sure the questions will be answered on the newly updated pages with CSS instead of HTML.

Changing the Help Section.

   I am now currently working in Netbeans making, and committing changes to the actual help section of U_Pb Redux. I am making little changes just to get used to making changes and making sure they are made to the help section and committed correctly.

   I will be allowed to make more changes once the questions are answered correctly from my Word Document.

That  Word document has been added to a Google Docs for that purpose. It will for faster responses for the many unanswered question in the help. This will help the users better understand the program and how to operate the functions within it.

New Work Photo

Here is my new work photo that will hopefully work better with the CIRDLES website than the last. I will add this to Playground when I return to campus.

Java Help

I have recently purchased my own copy of Java Help in order to highlight things I feel are important. I am also taking notes on the book. This will help me more effectively improve the help section in U-Pb Redux.

                              

U-Pb Redux Help Section

The U-Pb help section contains alot of unanswered questions about the program. I am currently working on answering those questions in order to have a more supportive help section. The section always has pictures that do not show up. I willl work on getting these images after all the questions are answered.

The Fractionation Model section is an example of the unanswered questions that need to be answered.

U-Pb Redux & Netbeans IDE Downloads

     I have successfully downloaded U-Pb Redux. I am not able to work on the Help for it from home. I am currently working downloading the Java SE development kit so I can finish my dowload for Netbeans IDE.
